JOB DESCRIPTION
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
The Front Desk Supervisor acts as a lead worker and is responsible for ensuring all Summit on the Park guests are provided with excellent customer service.
EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Note: These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed)
- Register/Sign-in guests for programs, classes, and activities using recreational software programs.
- Trains and supervises part-time/seasonal staff and volunteers assigned to the front desk.
- Assists with enforcement and compliance of safety program rules, policies, regulations, and procedures by the public and employees.
- Recommends purchase of supplies for front desk operations and other areas as directed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed electronic and written records, logs, and reports as required.
- Responds to, communicates, and documents emergency situations, including but not limited to first aid, severe weather, and missing child.
- Keeps abreast of community needs and current trends in the senior recreation field to ensure the delivery of quality customer service for all community center visitors and guests.
- Greets and interacts with participants and families in a positive and friendly manner and provides excellent customer service; including but not limited to, resolving customer complaints, providing tours, explaining programs and services available.
- Displays extensive knowledge of designated area and assists and attends staff meetings as scheduled.
- Ensures accurate money handling in accordance with Summit policies and reconciles and records cash, credit card, and check transactions daily.
- Supervises front desk operations in the absence of the Adult Specialist.
- Performs daily front desk closing procedures.
- Answers the telephone promptly and in a positive and friendly manner.
- Ensures the front desk is organized and performs general cleaning duties.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- High school graduate or GED required.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience or one year of Summit Front Desk Attendant experience or one year of Membership Services Assistant required.
- Previous cash handling experience required.
- Must possess a current, valid Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns; which includes, but is not limited to, convictions for reckless driving, careless driving, suspended license, or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving.
- College credits preferred.
- Previous community center or facility operation experience preferred.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office required; knowledge of recreation programming computer programs (registrations, membership sales, and event/program tasks and management) preferred.
- Must be able to assist handicapped or injured patrons including but not limited to contacting EMS or assisting with building evacuation during emergency situations.
- Ability to respond to emergency situations; must be able to climb stairs to 2nd level of the facility to assist during emergencies.
- Ability to clearly communicate procedures, problems, and policies with fellow employees and the public in a tactful and courteous manner.
- Strong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written) required.
- Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- This is an "At-Will" position: Work assignments and hours are scheduled based on availability, division requirements, and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time due to division needs, budgeting constraints, and staff availability.

- This is a part-time job opportunity. An employee in this position can work up to 29 hours per week year-round. Work hours, however, will be solely determined based on workload and availability.
