CUSTODIAL/MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT - LEISURE SERVICES (PART-TIME)

Rate of Pay $10.50 /hour

Must be available to work the following schedule:

Wednesday - Saturday from 11:00 am - 4:00 pm. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

The Custodial/Maintenance Assistant is a part-time position responsible for routine manual labor and maintenance work. Responsibilities include assisting maintenance technician employees with a variety of duties related to Township operations.

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Note: These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the
various types of work performed)

  • Perform routine housekeeping and custodial tasks, including but not limited to cleaning locker rooms, offices, fitness center and other areas within Township facilities. 
  • Perform minor facility and equipment repairs as directed. 
  • Responsible for meeting room set-up and tear-down, as assigned. 
  • Assist maintenance technicians in the performance of their duties. 
  • Perform other assigned duties as required 


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Minimum age of 18 years old
  • Must possess a current, valid Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns; i.e. convictions of reckless driving, careless driving, suspended license, or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving 
  • Some knowledge of and skill in the operation of hand and power tools required 
  • Ability to operate department vehicles including but not limited to small vans or pick-up trucks 
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish good working relationships with the public and other employees 
  • Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions 
  • Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time; ability to work in adverse environmental, extreme weather and field conditions 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (both oral and written) required 
  • Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays 
  • This is an "At-Will" position: Work assignments and hours are scheduled based on availability, division requirements and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at anytime due to division needs, budgeting constraints and staff availability

Hiring Process: Custodial Maintenance - Day Shift 

  • Schedule: Must be available to work the following schedule: Wednesday- Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • This is a part-time job opportunity. An employee is this position can work up to 29 hours per week year round. Work hours, however, will be solely determined based on work load and availability.
  • This is an at-will position. Hours are limited and will vary based on the operational needs of the department. Employees in this position are not full-time and will be classified as part-time, seasonal or variable hour employees.
