Rate of Pay: $10.50/ Hour


The Seasonal Laborer position at the Golf Course is a seasonal position responsible for routine manual labor and maintenance work in a variety of Township operations. An employee in this class works for a calendar period, usually the summer or winter months, and may be required to work up to 40 hours per week on a seasonal basis. The employee may also perform routine or repetitive tasks without supervision.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:(Note: These examples are intended merely as illustrations of the various types of work performed)

  • Performs general grounds keeping duties including but not limited to trash removal and light maintenance
  • Performs manual labor, including but not limited to shoveling, snow removal, digging ditches and trenches with hand equipment.
  • Operate a variety of equipment including but not limited to push mowers and weed whacker, tractors, hand tools and power tools
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Reports To: Golf Course Superintendent, with functional supervision lead worker as assigned from Irrigation Technician or other


  • Minimum age of 18 years old.
  • Some knowledge of hand and power tools and ability to use those tools properly and safely
  • Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods of time; including but not limited to, shoveling and raking with hand tools.
  • Ability to work in adverse environmental, extreme weather and field conditions
  • Ability to operate department vehicles including but not limited to small vans or pick-up trucks
  • Ability to operate push mowers and/or string trimmers for four to six hours each shift
  • Must possess a current, valid Driver's License with a driving history that does not create liability concerns; i.e. convictions of reckless driving, careless driving, suspended license, or convictions involving drinking and impaired driving
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish good working relationships with the public and other employees
  • Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to work a wide variety of shifts including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • This is an "At-Will" position: Work assignments and hours are scheduled based on availability, division requirements and within the confines of the budget. Schedules and work hours are not guaranteed and are subject to change at any time due to division needs, budgeting constraints and staff availability

  • This is an at-will position. Hours are limited and will vary based on the operational needs of the department. Employees in this position are not full-time and will be classified as variable hour employees. Hours are not guaranteed and fluctuate week to week.  An employee in this position will average less than 29 hours per week on a calendar basis.   • Must be available to start working at 6am. Daily shifts will average 4 to 6 hours per day.

  • Must be available to work occasional weekends and holidays.
